Shark & Amazon slash £200 off 'fantastic' vac that 'cleans 4-bed home in one go' (2025)

The highly-rated PowerDetect vacuum cleaner has had a huge price cut on both sites.

Shark and Amazon have gone head-to-head by offering a massive discount on a highly-rated cordless vacuum. The Shark PowerDetect Cordless Pet Vacuum Cleaner usually retails at £499.99.

But it can now be snapped up for £200 cheaper after a whopping 40 per cent price slash. And, even better, it's available on both Shark's website and Amazon.

This huge saving means you'll be getting a "powerful, intelligent, deep-cleaning" vacuum for far below the RRP - just in time for a spot of spring cleaning. The Shark PowerDetect Vacuum comes equipped with two brush rolls and multiple sensors that automatically ramp up its cleaning power for optimal performance.

The Shark also detects edges, corners and different floor types, increasing suction when needed. Unlike many of its competitors, this model scoops up dirt when pulled backwards as well as forwards.

Its anti Hair Wrap Plus feature can also eliminate hair from the brush-roll as it cleans, reports the Express. This exciting feature makes the Shark vac perfect for homes with pets, and the included motorised pet tool can be used to remove hair from the upholstery.

The battery is capable of running for 70 minutes, with the charge level displayed on an LED screen that also includes the 'Dirt Detection' feature.

If you're looking for a different premium vacuum cleaner, Dyson has also launched its own spring sale with a £80 discount on the Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute, now priced at £299.99, down from £379.99.

However, if you're on a tighter budget, the Smoture Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is a great option at £159.99 from Amazon. Down from £169.99, it boasts a "powerful" suction that competes with high-end brands.

But if you're keen on the Shark PowerDetect Cordless Pet Vacuum Cleaner, then you're not alone. It has a 4.3 rating from both Shark and Amazon customers, with some saying it far outstrips its rivals.

One satisfied customer said: "Better than my Dyson. The vacuum seems well made and has much better suction than my Dyson, it vacuums to the edges and definitely does a better deeper clean.

"Having three dogs we need a vacuum that can cope with all the hair. The anti hair wrap function works really well. Battery life is really impressive and allows me to clean our four bedroom house in one go."

Another five-star reviewer added: "Shark's PowerDetect cordless is fantastic. Bought this to replace my Dyson ball and it is so much better in every regard.

But one shopper wasn't pleased, writing on Amazon: "The auto-empty version in the UK does not have a cyclone, so all the dirt clogs up the filter and makes the machine overheat and cut out."
